Retatrutide is an investigational triple receptor agonist studied for its simultaneous activity at the GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors.

Each receptor is studied for a distinct metabolic role: GLP-1 receptor signalling in appetite regulation, gastric emptying and insulin secretion; GIP receptor signalling in insulin response; and glucagon receptor signalling in energy expenditure and hepatic fat metabolism. Combining all three in one molecule is what distinguishes retatrutide in current metabolic research.
